The United Nations Information Centre, in collaboration with the Youth of United Nations Association (YUNA) and UN Clubs Tanzania Network (UNCTN) organized World Environment Day on 4 June 2009.

As the Country Commemorates International Day of UN Peacekeepers
The Government of the Republic of Tanzania has called for more women to be included in UN Peacekeeping missions in order to recognize and promote their position and role in peace and security operations.  Addressing guests during the commemoration of International Day of UN Peacekeepers in Dar es Salaam, the Deputy Minister of Defence and National Service, Emmanuel Nchimbi lamented the few numbers of women in peacekeeping operations and called it an anomaly which needed redressing.

The students streamed into the Kibasila Secondary School Hall as early as 09:30 am all dressed up in different and colourful attires to participate in the International Day of Cultural Diversity and Development.
